Meet our new teacher

By Eilidh Campbell | Project Volunteer

New ECD teacher, Emmis
New ECD teacher, Emmis

We have already started putting your donations to good use in our day care. The most important thing we have done is to employ our new Early Childhood Development (ECD) teacher, Emmis. She has been taking the older children for classes and assisting the day care assistants in running the center. We have noticed a big difference in the children already, and it is lovely to hear singing and counting coming from the classroom.

The second thing we are doing is to replace the floor in the play area. Over the years it had become damaged and is unsafe for the babies to crawl around on. The new floor will be much safer and nicer than the cold, hard stone floor which has been there until now.

We hope that with your continued support we will be able to complete work on the catering training container so that we can start some of the mothers and other local women and girls on the path to generating an income for their families.

Thank you for your kind donation and we hope we can continue to rely on your support as our project progresses.

Happy to be getting a new floor!
