Many children have lost one or both parents in Cameroon due to armed conflict in some regions and HIV/AIDS, houses burnt down living thousands of children vulnerable on the street without access to food, water, education, shelter and legal protection. These children are exposed to all forms of abuses and exploitation. Integrated Agricultural Association aims to protect and give hope to these children through holistic support.
Integrated Agricultural Association (IAA) has trained and recruited 15 community social workers and identified 971 OVCs who are not going to school and do not have birth certificate. This has been done through home visits conducted by our social workers in the past three months. IAA is in the process to establish and orphan home and 971 birth certificates for vulnerable children in the city of Bamenda to completely remove children from the streets, ensures their social and legal protection to be free from abuses and exploitation as well as victims of crimes.
Funding is a challenge given the context of the situation and organizational capacity. IAA is still a small organization with little or no steady income sources to further its mission successfully. The financial goal for this project is $150,000 and IAA has raised $25 through GlobalGiving. We continue to welcome donations of any amount made through GlobalGiving to enable us serve the needy children and meet their expectations.
Thank you for being part of our support and donor community, your continued donation and support will help us establish birth certificates for 871 children and provide shelter and basic needs. Thank you for trusting our work and for fueling development in our community.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
