Reviving Home's Candles of Hope program aims to provide education resources to students in war and crisis-torn countries. Phase 1 involves a small classroom of 10 students in one grade level in their home country. Due to years out of school, students will be assessed and periodically reassessed to determine their education level. Project enables COH by RH to develop an effective, scalable system for deploying education resources, with benefits that will endure beyond the demonstration project.
The Candles of Hope program by Reviving Home aims to address the complex problem of providing education to refugee children in war and crisis-torn countries. As described in a UNHCR report, refugees are distributed among different countries with varying resources and languages.
The program recruits students in their home country to eliminate language barriers. The program's focus is on developing an appropriate curriculum, while also addressing important goals such as providing job training, psychosocial support, training more teachers, and funding for tuition and school supplies.
The outcome of this demonstration project will be the preliminary design of an effective, efficient system that is also scalable and can be used to deploy education resources where they are needed.
