This project will buy 500 sewing machines for the 500 abandoned teenage mothers in Eastern Uganda, enabling them to work and provide for their children.
The pandemic left many teenage girls in Uganda especially the eastern region with no choice but to engage in sexual activities in search for food and other basic needs. This left many with pregnancies and no one to take care of them. This project will help 500 of them who have already gained the sewing skills to be able to carry out tailoring activities with the sewing machines that they will receive, to be able to provide food and other needs to their babies and themselves.
ALF equips teenage mothers with skills like tailoring to enable them be in position to work and provide for their babies and take care of themselves. Through this project, they will receive each a sewing machine to start on the work.
The project will empower 500 teenage mothers to stand up for themselves and work to rise out of poverty, which will improve their standards of living and those of their communities.
