Motivationwhat led you to POS)
This organisation truly listens to what people living in and fleeing from Syria actually want, rather than just assuming what they need. I find that incredibly inspiring. They take action from the bottom up, ensuring that no one is left behind. They're not only focused on improving the current situation, but also thinking about the future of these communities.
Last but not least, many of us don’t know what Syria was like before the war—but Nakano, the founder of this organisation, does. He remembers how people lived and the beauty of their souls. And our goal ‘ MAKE THE SYRIA WHERE PEOPLE WANT TO VISIT AGAIN’ is really beautiful! That deeply resonates with me.
Specific Contributionsyour role and activities
I am working as a member of SNS team in Japanese and English version. Our team posts about Syrian culture and children’s life in Sakura kindergarten.
I also join online event. We have a breakout time at the end of the even, where we try to make a place for participants to discuss their thoughts.
Vision and Passion
My vision is to eliminate the labels and unconscious preconceptions people often have about different groups. I believe that when we hear someone's story, we should receive it as an individual story, not as a generalised representation of a group. Everyone has different background and experience, and each story deserves to be heard without prejudice or bias.
This is the passion that drives my volunteering with this organisation and my studies at university.
She encourages us to see the world through empathy, not stereotypes. With her efforts, our activities continue to reach people with honesty and warmth. We’re excited to see how her passion will help build bridges of understanding around the world.
Together, we can create small changes that lead to something truly meaningful. Your support is helping us create a brighter future for children in Syria
