Dear Play Supporters,
As we begin a new financial year, we are delighted to share how the Power of Play continues to create meaningful learning experiences for children across Maharashtra.
Over the past few months, our efforts have focused on preparing for the new academic year by strengthening classrooms, equipping our programme teams, and empowering teachers to bring play-based learning into children's everyday experiences. This period also marked an important milestone in advancing the conversation around play beyond classrooms and into education systems and communities.
A key highlight was our International Day of Play celebrations, centred around the theme "Protect Play, Protect Childhood." Through a district-level roundtable in Ahilyanagar, Shri Satyajeet Sudhir Tambe (Member, Maharashtra Legislative Council) joined government leaders, educators, and partners in championing children's right to play. The roundtable culminated in the landmark declaration of "Pahila Divas Shalecha, Ek Taas Khelacha" (The First Day of School, One Hour of Play), with over 5,000 schools across the district beginning the academic year with an hour of structured play. We also recognised teachers as Play Leaders, reinforcing their role in making play an integral part of learning.
Building on this momentum, TOF participated in the National Play Dialogue in New Delhi, where our CEO & Co-founder, Shweta Chari, facilitated a Children's Panel in the presence of Shri Jitin Prasada, Union Minister of State for Commerce & Industry and Electronics & Information Technology, alongside senior leaders from government and the education ecosystem. TOF also brought the power of play into corporate workplaces through children-led play sessions, reinforcing that protecting childhood is a shared responsibility.
Alongside these milestones, our teams conducted play sessions, supported teachers through school-level mentoring, and trained Outreach Play Workers to ensure high-quality programme delivery for the year ahead. These efforts continue to strengthen our vision of making play an integral part of every child's learning journey.
The attached report offers a closer look at the progress, partnerships, and impact achieved over the past few months.
Thank you for believing in the Power of Play.
