The Teachers We’ve Trained Are Now Inspiring Us!

This past year, we’ve had the tremendous opportunity to transform educators into Inspired Teachers through our various teacher training programs. Inspired Teachers believe that all children can be engaged critical thinkers and problem solvers and they find a way to tap students’ innate strengths and gifts through relevant, rewarding and rigorous lessons and activities in the classroom.

We are now hearing back from many of our Inspired Teachers and they are making waves and bringing exciting changes into the field of K-12 education. Here are just a few reports of their tremendous work:

  • Two Inspired Teachers are serving as advisors with Aspen Institute’s Common Core State Standards Collaborative—a working group exploring best teaching practices aligned with the Common Core.

  • Four Inspired Teachers received this year’s Rubenstein Award for Highly Effective Teachers at the Standing Ovation Awards ceremony in Washington, DC.

  • One Inspired Teacher recently returned from Geneva where is working on developing Human Rights Education curriculum.

  • One of our Inspired Teachers received the Maryland Association of Teacher Educators - Distinguished Teacher Candidate Award.

  • One of our Inspired Teachers moved to Johannesburg, South Africa and is working to open a school centered around closing the opportunity gap.

  • Over a dozen of our Inspired Teachers have been tapped for instructional or peer leadership positions in their schools.

Our Inspired Teachers continue to inspire us in their work as change makers in education.

What welcome news as we ring in the New Year, and look forward to hearing othe rexciting reports from the education field in 2014!
