The project will involve the construction of six fully equipped classrooms, including roofing, plastering, flooring, painting, doors, and windows, as well as the provision of classroom furniture such as student desks, teacher tables and chairs, and blackboards. The intervention is expected to create a safe, inclusive, and conducive learning environment for over 350 school children and teachers in the beneficiary community.
In the Amankwakrom community, the existing school infrastructure was destroyed by a strong thunder storm resulting in the closing down of the school and children are left with no option than to stay at home. The overarching goal of the project is to improve access to quality basic education and essential social services for children and residents. These conditions negatively affect concentration, motivation, and overall learning outcomes.
The project will address the construction of six modern and fully furnished classrooms that will provide a safe, comfortable, and conducive environment for teaching and learning. The new classrooms will help reduce overcrowding, eliminate the need for children to study in unsafe or temporary structures, and create adequate space for effective classroom management and student participation. In addition, the project will provide essential classroom furniture, including student desks.
The project will have a significant long-term impact on the educational and socio-economic development of the beneficiary rural community. By providing safe and well-equipped classrooms, the project will improve access to quality basic education for hundreds of children, creating better opportunities for academic success and future employment. Improved learning conditions are expected to increase school enrollment, reduce absenteeism and dropout rates, and encourage more children.
