Another exciting one is here!!! In Sabon Gari LGA, Kaduna State, 40 young girls’ capacity from Bomo, Hanwa, Muchiya, and Dogarawa communities was built to understand budget tracking and its impact on girls' education. The training shaped them into confident advocates for girls' education and transparency in the education sector. The training aimed at fostering accountability for girls’ education through storytelling, and advocacy to equip the 40 young girls with the knowledge and skills needed to challenge harmful norms and advocate for lasting change in their communities. The 40 young girls were educated on important topics such as understanding adolescence, stages of adolescence, life skills like communication, decision-making, personal values, and clarification. These 40 young advocates have transitioned from being participants to leaders, actively implementing their knowledge within their communities. They now conduct peer-to-peer sensitization sessions, ensuring that more girls understand their rights and the importance of advocating for quality education The fact that these girls are taking ownership of their learning and driving advocacy efforts is a symbol of their commitment to being the voices of change. They are no longer just beneficiaries of intervention; they are active agents of transformation, paving the way for a more transparent and inclusive education system in Sabon Gari LGA and Kaduna state at large. With your continued support, these young advocates can amplify their impact, ensuring that girls’ education remains a priority in community discussions and policy decisions. Their journey has just begun, but the seeds of change they have planted are already taking root. Amina’s story Amina, a 15-year-old from Hanwa community, was inspired by the training she gained. During one of her peer sensitization sessions, she discovered that some girls had dropped out of school because of hidden school fees, despite government policies on free basic education. And decide to hold talk shows which allows for more girls to advocate for their basic educational rights. Today, Amina continues to lead advocacy efforts, encouraging more girls to voice their concerns and demand accountability in education financing
