In an exciting development, our organization collaborated with the Aspilos Foundation to embark on a transformative journey. Together, we took a significant step towards empowering young girls in our community. Enthusiastically, we enrolled 24 promising young talents in a comprehensive 5-month Digital Skills course, a project that promised to be nothing short of life-changing.
As we navigated this change in course, our determination to make a meaningful impact on these girls' lives remained steadfast. With funding support on this project, the Aspilos Foundation trained 24 young ladies through a curriculum that covered an array of essential digital skills for five months. They mastered the intricacies of digital literacy and delved into the realms of coding, graphic design, data science, business development, and financial literacy. These girls experienced an enriching educational journey that extended far beyond the classroom.
Our aspirations reached far beyond just those 24 young minds. We envisioned a future where more women broke barriers and took their rightful place in the world of technology. By increasing the number of women in technology from underserved communities, we aimed to create a ripple effect that extended far and wide. With those skills, those girls had access to better career prospects and income-generating opportunities, ultimately enhancing their overall quality of life.
While our initial cohort consisted of 24 remarkable individuals, our commitment to change knew no bounds. We aimed to extend this transformative opportunity to 100 deserving girls in our community.
As we embarked on this incredible endeavor, we were shaping the future of those young girls and contributing to a more diverse and inclusive tech landscape. The journey had just begun, and we couldn't wait to see the remarkable transformations that lay ahead. Your kind donations are greatly appreciated.
Some of the quotes from the girls.
‘’With the training I got, I am abke to develop messages and know how to engage with a wider audience using my social media handles’’ Fatmata 22
‘’With the five months of training I got in graphic design, I bought a fairly used mini laptop, which I use to design stickers for weddings, naming, and birthdays in my community. And I have been getting more people.”
