The fund will help poor families in sprawling slums in Nairobi and Arid and Semi arid areas build resilience through micro business in slums and provision of clean water. This project will dig water wells and drilling boreholes in arid and semi arid areas for growing crops, rearing animals, afforestation and reforestation to curb climate change.
Poor family that live below one dollar per day in Sprawling slums of Nairobi and in arid and semi-arid rural areas are now languishing in poverty can't take their children back to school nor are they able to feed their families. This has increased number of children facing severe malnutrition. The families have no sustainable development, and they need to be empowered economically through growing of food crops, rearing of animals, afforestation and reforestation.
The major problem in slums is lack of income leading to great poverty. Poor families in slums need sources of income by helping them start micro businesses. In Arid and Semi-Arid areas poverty is due to lack of water. Digging water wells and drilling boreholes will provide water for growing of crops and rearing animals. It will be used also for afforestation and reforestation. this will create income for rural people in Arid areas.
The project will break the long chain of deep seated poverty through micro business for poor families in slums and provision of stable food for poor families in rural arid and semi-arid through keeping of livestock, farming and preservation of environment through afforestation and reforestation.
