It is with great pleasure to reconnect again with you since my last update in October. I'm excited to share more about the ongoing activities at Kassanda Children’s Aid projects. In our previous report, KCA embarked on planting beans and maize. Unfortunately, heavy rainfall resulted in the destruction of the beans, which were vital for addressing food scarcity at Stephen Baker Farm and providing sustenance for our school children. Consequently, we will need to procure beans to meet the nutritional needs of both our school and farm communities.
I am delighted to announce that The Seed Junior School, under Kassanda Children’s Aid, is scheduled to commence its first term of the year on February 5th, 2024. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and supporters, the boys' dormitory has been constructed to accommodate students from distant areas, ensuring they can focus on their studies effectively. Additionally, efforts have been made to enhance the school's security, including repairing the school gate and installing security cameras, all made possible through donor contributions.
Through networking and advocacy, our orphanage school successfully secured 50 laptops from the Labadoo organization in Switzerland. However, due to logistical challenges, only 25 laptops have arrived in Uganda as of January 18th, 2024. Despite delays caused by concurrent events such as the NAM conferences, which have occupied the attention of officials, we remain steadfast in our commitment to providing our children with access to computer education.
We appeal to our esteemed donors to consider supporting Kassanda Children’s Aid in initiating income-generating projects for families at Stephen Baker Farm and assisting vulnerable children enrolled at Seed Junior School. Your unwavering generosity and support during challenging times are deeply appreciated, and we express our heartfelt gratitude. May you be abundantly blessed for your kindness and compassion towards our community.
