Fall is a time of harvest and to give thanks. We truly appreciate all of your love and support over the years. We sincerely thank you for your partnership as we cannot serve the less fortunate without you. We are also grateful you choose our boots on the ground organization and know there are many causes you could choose. Thank you for your trust and we never take it for granted. We hope you enjoy getting these updates to see the impact we make together.
To summarize, since our last report KCA has done the following activities:
1. Education for children
2. Health and medical support
3. Food and nutrition help
4. Started an income-generating project
Our organization has continued educating 180 vulnerable children through Seed Junior School and 12 benefited from our Get Schooled project making a grand total of 192 children. They receive lunch, education and uniforms. Despite food prices continuing to increase at the market, we have provided all 192 children with lunches daily. This is no easy task and we could use more help in this area. Please visit https://www.get-schooled.org/ for more information.
KCA has also offered medical support, thanks to the generous donations we received. There were 12 children who suffered from malaria, typhoid, cough, asthma and flu. Three children ended up being admitted to the hospital but we managed to clear all their bills.
Lastly, for the women and children who stay on our Stephen Baker Farm, the solution to help them start a project for earning income to help with some of their expenses, it was decided to start up a piggery project. We will be doing this instead of building one of the homes as it’s much needed and we appreciate our donors understanding on the matter. With the last donation we received, we were able to get started with three pigs while we wait for more financial support to build it up to full capacity.
Let me close with this, never underestimate the power of a small deed, many small deeds add up to accomplish much over a lifetime. We hope you have a wonderful holiday season with all your loved ones and let's talk again soon!
