This project aims to reduce hunger and poverty amongst a group of 50 farmers and their families in the rural communities of Delta State,Nigeria by providing farmland,seeds,livestock,training and equipping them with tools for sustainable agricultural practices that would help them farm their way out of poverty.
Despite an abundance of arable farm lands,there is hunger,poverty and food insecurity in the Asaba region of Delta State,Nigeria because the farmers lack the right capital,tools and skills for sustainable farming. Mostly affected are over 1000 poor farmers who still rely on outdated farming techniques and cannot afford enough land for their farms.
With this project ELEKT Global Foundation will solve the problem by purchasing lands for the poorest farmers,equipping 50 of them and their families with seedlings,fertilizers,livestock,tools and training that will enable them farm their way out of poverty by producing better crops and livestocks in large quantities
The project will create jobs for over 500 people,as well as improve food production,which will in turn positively impact the socio economic welfare of the region.
