A short note to say Thank you For Standing WIth Us

By Caroline | Volunteer

Thank You for Standing With Us Dear friends and supporters,

Thank you for your continued support of Books and Bread for Kenya. Because of your kindness, children are attending school, families are being fed, girls are receiving reusable sanitary kits, and vulnerable individuals are receiving the practical support they need.

Your generosity is felt in daily meals, school uniforms, medical care, safe shelter, and opportunities for a better future.

This year, we have seen much good made possible through your support.

Every child at Mothers’ Vision is now fully sponsored. Children at Jesus Healing Ministry are living in a safe new home with land producing food.

More than 200 children at Barani Primary School have received uniforms, and our period-poverty project continues to grow.

We have also supported families in crisis with rent, food, school fees, medical care, and other essentials.

However, we also want to be open about an increasing challenge.

Sales at our Chester-le-Street charity shop, which remains our main source of income, have slowed significantly following the opening of another charity shop directly opposite us. As a small charity, this inevitably affects the funds available for our work in Kenya.

If you are able to help, we would be very grateful if you would consider shopping with us and encouraging friends and family to do the same. Every purchase made in our shop directly supports the work we do.

As our trustees grow older, we must also begin to consider what will happen to the charity in the future and prepare responsibly for all eventualities. Ensuring the long-term sustainability of Books and Bread for Kenya is becoming increasingly important. Your support, whether through giving, shopping, volunteering, or simply spreading the word, remains deeply valued.

Thank you for standing with us and helping us continue this work.

With gratitude, Books and Bread for Kenya
