In the past quarter we have supported 50 girls who come from areas where teenage pregnancies,child marriages and Female Genital Mutilation has a high prevalence;
Teenage pregnancies,Child marriages and Female Genital Mutilation often lead to interrupted schooling, making it challenging for girls to continue their education and access training opportunities.Computer skills provide a flexible pathway to education and employment.
Through the support from the GlobalGiving platform we have been able to provide computer literacy program development initiative for girls who are out of primary/secondary school.
The computer skills training is co-created and designed by the girls and offers a comprehensive curriculum tailored to the needs of the girls. The courses covered basic computer operations, including word processing and spreadsheet management, as well as more advanced topics such as web development, digital marketing, and graphic design.
The sessions facilitated group work and collaborative projects, allowing participants to learn from one another,develop teamwork skills and reinforce their understanding and build practical skills.
Computer skills training has enhanced girls ability to access online educational resources, including e-learning platforms, tutorials, and research materials. This access supports ongoing learning and helps them stay engaged with current educational trends and opportunities.
