This project intervention was based on the increase in urgent calls reporting FGM incidents in October, November and December of 2020. We share key achievements and challenges following our successful work of rescuing 50 girls and keeping 250 more safe from FGM in this reporting period.
The support from you, our community enabled the response to girls' urgent needs at risk of FGM, linked survivors to care and mitigated the impacts of COVID-19.
Key achievements this reporting period
1. Provision of menstrual pads and school essentials for 20 vulnerable girls in 2 villages in Kuria rural Kenya.
Challenges
1. Limited funding to sustainably support girls at risk of FGM, receive care & support this exposing them to FGM.
