This project will build a children's home in kabong district, karamoja region of uganda. it will support 500 children who currently reside on the street with basic needs of shelter, food, medical care, clothing and basic education. They are traumatized by the loss of their parents due to HIV/AIDS and insurgency in the region.
There are currently more than 10,000 orphaned children in uganda. According to a recent survey by uganda bureau of statistics and UNICEF, the greatest numbers come from Northern and North east parts of the country that have been under insurgence for the last 30 years. The regions have high HIV prevalence and many orphans are a results of the two main challenges. This project will give shelter and basic requisites to 500 orphans in karamoja region who are the most affected of the groups.
The project will build a basic childrens home and provide them with the basic needs of food, clothing, basic education and medical care. The care takers are well trained and will provide highly nutritious meals to the starving children and will also keep them under good hygiene at the orphanage home.
The project will provide 500 children with basic education, creative plays, games and sports, food and shelter, good medical care and clothing. These children will be brought up to be responsible citizens who intern will work and also support the home in what ever way they choose to. They will have a brotherly and sister like bond.
