The Building More Than a School project continues to transform lives in Thieudème and surrounding communities. Beyond the construction of classrooms and facilities, the initiative has created an environment where children can thrive academically. Thanks to your support, we are witnessing tangible improvements in student performance and motivation.
Children are showing better literacy outcomes, with reading fluency and comprehension improving across grade levels. Teachers report that students are more confident in expressing themselves, both orally and in writing. This progress is especially encouraging for early learners, who now have access to structured lessons in a safe and supportive setting.
Mathematics results have also improved significantly. With consistent attendance and better classroom resources, students are mastering basic numeracy and problem solving skills. Teachers highlight that children are more willing to engage with challenging exercises, reflecting a shift in attitudes toward learning. These stronger math skills are laying the foundation for future academic success.
Attendance rates have risen steadily since the school canteen and garden became operational. Nutritious meals ensure that children arrive at school ready to learn, reducing fatigue and absenteeism. Parents confirm that the promise of a daily meal motivates families to prioritize education, reinforcing the link between nutrition and academic achievement.
The project has also boosted teacher morale. With improved facilities and strong community support, educators feel valued and motivated. Their renewed energy translates into more dynamic lessons and closer engagement with students. This teacher motivation is a crucial factor in sustaining academic progress.
Community pride is another visible outcome. Parents and local leaders see the school as a beacon of hope, not only for education but for holistic child development. The secure compound and thriving garden symbolize resilience and collective effort. The project has strengthened trust between families, teachers, and the organization, ensuring longterm commitment to education.
Looking ahead, we aim to consolidate these gains by expanding digital learning tools, deepening community involvement, and scaling the nutrition program for sustainability. With your continued support, we are building not just a school, but a foundation for brighter futures—where every child has the chance to learn, grow, and succeed.
