For 8 years, our small charitable nursery school in Madina Zongo, Accra, has given more than 1,000 children their first chance at quality education. Today, our classrooms are overcrowded, deteriorating, and unable to absorb the growing number of children who need a safe learning environment. We are launching this project to build a modern, child-friendly classroom block that will serve over 253 preschool children each year. Your support will help us transform early childhood education in Madina.
Madina Zongo is one of Accra's most disadvantaged urban communities. Many families here cannot afford quality early childhood education, yet early learning is critical to breaking generational poverty. Our 8-year-old nursery school though deeply loved by the community has cracked walls, limited space, unsafe structures and old desks. Each year, we turn away children simply because we lack space. Without intervention, hundreds of children will lose the chance to start school early.
We want to build a state-of-the-art, safe, and inclusive classroom facility for preschoolers aged 2-6. The new building will include: Modern, well-ventilated classrooms Safe child-friendly furniture A mini-library and reading corner Washrooms designed for young children A small play and learning area Storage for teaching and learning materials This project will immediately improve the learning experience for the current 253 preschoolers and make room for hundreds more in the coming years
Early childhood education shapes a child's confidence, learning ability, and life chances.
