By NKUMU ASSANA KIRIKA | Project leader
Hi,
It is with pleasure that we present the report on our participation in Open Challenge organized by GlobalGiving. We have participated by presenting twice and unsuccessfully our project to build a center for over 33,000 people living in Kalo without sanitation. We participated in Open Challenge of December 2014 and that of March 2015. For the first, we raised $ 1,580 and the last $ 50. We saved money with the hope that on March Open Challenge; we will be able to get some more donations to start construction of medical center. Our disappointment was great. That’s why we continue to keep this amount and launch another project for June. We will invest the money saved in the new project if successful. Our donors who want to get the bank statement to ensure that we keep intact this amount can contact us. It is their legitimate right because they are our partners. We thank them for trusting us.
It is sad to see that we are paying the mistakes of others. Many churches and organizations have misused donor confidence by diverting donations for the poor. For now all organizations working overseas are put in the same basket and our people mired in misery without receiving the help they need.
We would like to reiterate our warm thanks to you for your support. Without your support, we're never going to change the lives of our brothers and sisters who continue to die like flies because of lack of healthcare for major illnesses that can be treated.
