This project is aimed at the creation of a children's dining room in the southeast of Cartagena, where the highest levels of poverty and indigence are concentrated. We are working to make a difference in the lives of 200 children who fight against hunger, by providing free food to each of them and giving them hope to live, we know that children with hunger can't wait. The program will also have classrooms, with resources for teaching art, music, languages and other activities.
In the southeast of Cartagena, most of the children have grown up experiencing malnutrition, domestic and gang-related violence. The hazardous environment in which these kids have grown up creates a vicious circle that few escape. Why? Severe poverty conditions, deficient access to nutritious food and opportunities as well as lack of parental education and cultural factors of domestic violence have created this serious problem. This project will improve the life of 200 of those kids.
This project will provide food to help 200 children with hunger in one of the poorest locations of Cartagena. Fighting hunger is our top priority, we know children with hunger can't wait. But our goal does not stop there. We will conduct art workshops, instrumental music, English and support in school reinforcement. This will not only contribute to the children's cognitive, physical and social development but also it will reduce their exposure to the mentioned violence and delinquency threats.
