The big day is finally approaching! After many years of working toward a new Boys & Girls Club, it's almost complete. The doors to our new Club will officially open on March 28. The new Club will offer a full-day program for kids on spring break and then begin offering before and after school programs when kids are back in school. We couldn't be more excited to have our doors opening soon so we can give our community's kids all the very best programs. And they truly are the best programs - in 2015 our Club was ranked #1 in the nation by Boys & Girls Clubs of America for its education programs and #2 in the nation for safety. We're proud to give kids programming that is not only the best locally, but the best in the entire country. With the new Club, we'll be able to bring those top quality programs to another 2,500 youth in the next year.
The new site will make a big difference to parents, too. Jessica, one of the moms at our Huntington Beach Branch, says, "Thanks to the Club, I am also able to attend school to better my pay in the future. I just completed my Associate in Science and I am applying to pursue my BS. Knowing that my daughter is safe and loved means more to me than anything. Thank you for everything!”
This is a mom from one of our other Club sites that is not on a college campus. Imagine how many more parents like Jessica will be able to go back to school and get the education they need once the new Boys & Girls Club at Golden West College opens in March!
By supporting this project, you've already made a big difference to every child who will walk through the doors of the new Club you've helped build. Thank you for your generosity! If you'd like to help the new Club get ready to open, there are a lot of items on our wishlist that we could use your help with.
$10 buys a new book for the library.
$20 buys a basketball for the gym.
$45 buys a chair for the education center.
$130 buys a table for the art room.
$270 buys a learning station in the kindergarten room, like science, dramatic play, writing, and reading.
$600 buys a new computer for the technology lab.
These photos of kids at our other branches show the big difference you'll make by bringing the Boys & Girls Club to even more kids. Thank you again for all that you've done to open the doors to a new Boys & Girls Club and a great future for thousands of kids!
