A Club member named Sydney recently wrote about her experience at our Boys & Girls Clubs. I'd like to share with you what she said, because it really touched my heart and I think it will touch yours, too. Sydney writes, “When I walked into the Boys & Girls Club for the first time, I saw kids everywhere all grinning ear to ear. It seemed as though there were hundreds of rooms, filled with things devoted just for children. I was immediately filled with a sense of safety and excitement. As I started attending the Club regularly, it became a second home. I felt like I was safe there. No one looked down on me or treated me different because I was different. Without the Boys & Girls Club, I wouldn’t have found the light amidst the darkness.” Thank you for being a supporter of the Boys & Girls Club and making a difference to kids like Sydney.
Right now, our new Club is under construction - you can see in the photo here that the foundation is poured and the walls are starting to get framed up. Progress will move quickly from here and we expect that by late fall, we'll be opening the doors to our new Boys & Girls Club and a great future for kids like Sydney who need a light in the darkness and who need a place to feel safe. We're excited to be able to give 1,500 more kids a home away from home that's going to change their lives for the better. We can only do it because of you and your support!
As we reach the final months of construction, the need for your support is more urgent than ever. Would you consider making a gift today? Your $20 contribution could help us reach our goal of raising $1,500 more to fully fund our new playground. Your $50 contribution could buy several educational games for our activity center. Your $100 contribution will help us buy tables and chairs to equip the technology lab where kids will use 20 brand new laptops that were donated this month. A gift of any size makes a difference! Thank you for all you do to change the lives of children for the better - kids like Sydney thank you for showing them "the light amidst the darkness"!
