At the same time as our world becoming increasingly interconnected, we are seeing the spread of cultural tensions and division. We need today's students to respond by building tolerance and understanding of global issues. SIMA Classroom uses the power of social impact film to solve this issue. Your donation will directly support over 100 educators by providing them access to our current-affairs media platform of 100+ award-winning films and resources for human rights education.

Take a glance at today's news headlines & you'll understand how vital it is that students develop global competency. In our ever-changing world they need a deeper understanding of the world's political, economic, & social issues; the ability to interpret media messages; the capacity to engage with people from a variety of backgrounds; and the skills to succeed in a global & interdependent society. Educators need teaching resources that allow students to see their place in a more tolerant society

The first step to cultivating global competence in the classroom is exposing students to different realities & perspectives. At SIMA we have a saying, "Documentary is Fatal to Prejudice." SIMA Classroom provides educators with 100+ documentaries selected by the annual SIMA Awards. We pair these with human-rights themed playlists and engagement models to provide a springboard for student discussion and action. Students are challenged to investigate the world beyond their immediate environment.

Long-Term Impact

Bringing real-life, compelling stories from around the world into classrooms gives students with the communication, social, & interpersonal skills to thrive in a globally competitive world. We already provided free, sponsored access to SIMA Classroom for more than 90% of our subscribers. We want to continue to give this access as our reach grows and SIMA Classroom is in 1,000 classrooms internationally. Your support will provide educators with invaluable ways to deliver dynamic global learning.
