Chunhui Care Home project partners with welfare institutions in Chinese mainland to bring infants and toddlers born with life-threatening diseases and defects to Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou for the best medical treatment available. The proposed fund of $25,000 will sponsor a bed and help four children recover from desease at the earliest possible date and recieve around-the-clock loving care from Chunhui Mamas.
The incidence rate of birth defects in Chinese Mainland is about 5.6%, with about 900,000 newborns suffered from congenital diseases every year. Among them, 250,000 are clinically evident. The range of these congenital disease is really wide, of which 8,000 to 10,000 are known at this time. There are 54,000 orphans raised in Children Welfare Institutions currently, and about 89% of them have congenital illness or disabilities, they would face more challenges without medical treatment.
Working with the institutions and top hospitals of Chinese Mainland, we offer best medical treatment to the orphans with life-threaten illness and cover all areas of medical treatment including pre-operative check, hospitalization, surgery and other care. We train full-time loving Chunhui Mamas to patiently provide the best follow-up care and emotional support so the children can recover, return to the institutions and possibly find a permanent adoptive family at the earliest possible.
In partnership with the Tomorrow Plan, administered by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, this project serves more than 200 orpanes fighting for their lives each year. Children who benefit from this project are more likely to have a permanent adoptive family after recovery. The average adoption rate of this project is 40%, which is higher than the overall adoption rate of orphaned child in Chinese mainland. The target funding amount will cover one year cost of 4 children.
The Government of People’s Republic of China has implemented new regulations for foreign NGOs operating in China.
