Bring America Home: Direct Action Campaign ReportCampaign Overview

The Bring America Home Direct Action Campaign marks a strategic return to grassroots direct action—the very strategy that historically yielded the most significant gains in homeless services and fundamental rights for marginalized communities. By combining targeted advocacy, public demonstration, and nationwide community organizing, the campaign aims to dismantle systemic barriers and compel structural change.

Key Milestones & Timeline
  • March | Direct Advocacy & Lobby Day:

NCH organized a national Lobby Day in Washington, D.C., bringing together advocates and individuals with lived experience to directly lobby lawmakers for expanded federal funding and robust housing initiatives for people experiencing homelessness.

  • June | Mobilization Against Criminalization:

NCH partnered with local and national allies to protest the Cicero Institute, publicly opposing its push for policies that criminalize homelessness and push vulnerable populations further into the margins.

  • October | Nationwide Day of Action:

We are mobilizing for a coordinated National Action across communities nationwide. Local groups will take to the streets and public spaces to demand:

    • Immediate investment in affordable housing.

    • An end to anti-homeless laws and punitive measures.

    • The full protection of human and civil rights for all unhoused residents.

Conclusion & Next Steps

Direct action has always been the cornerstone of transformative movement-building. As we head toward our October National Action, NCH will continue building coalitions, training community organizers, and lifting up the voices of those directly impacted. Through unified, nonviolent direct action, we will turn momentum into lasting policy changes that ensure housing justice for all.
