Here we have Aryan Dolare (19 yrs.) an orphan boy who has two younger siblings. His siblings also raised in Child Care institution (CCI) known as orphanage situated in Pune India. CSA started working with this CCI since last year.
Aryan was the elder brother and has no support system to move out of the outside world. He completed his 12th standard by the time he reached 18 Yrs. of age. This was the time he has to move out of the CCI But he didn’t had any option to earn for himself. He started helping the in CCI as office assistance. CCI superintendent introduced us with Aryan and we were so much amazed to see the talent filled in this boy. Shy and quite Aryan used to keep himself engaged by doing sketches, landscapes and artistic things made with clay. Superintendent told us to look for appropriate career option for him. After lot of search we found that an academy known as Times & Trends was best suited for him. Still we were not sure what would be his career plan. He went through a assessment session with them which recommended that he should choose to go for interior decoration.
We all were very happy for Aryan and Aryan was so much pleased as if he got a new set of wings to fly in this whole universe. He has joined the course. Now we have seen the shy and quite Aryan could not stop the smiling. Here is what Aryan has to say….
‘‘The platform offered by Catalysts for Social Action enhanced my creativity like never before. The combination of design management is quite unique, and fits my personal and professional interests perfectly. It allows me to let my creativity and imagination unfold while developing my business skills, which has helped me to make a mark. I now have a future I am confident to develop myself in the industry with lot of ambition. Thank you!”.

Self defense
Hi, I am back with one more exciting news. As you’ll know we are engaged to upgrade the living condition of the children living in Child Care Institution (CCI) or Orphanage. We have been dealing with the girls who have come from pathetic situation and extreme poverty. This led them to be the pray of getting physically or verbally abused many a times. Though they are in protected atmosphere in CCI we never know once they are back home what situation and risk they face.
In my previous report I have elaborated on Life skill session which we are organizing. We moved one step ahead to it and plan to empower them on Adolescent health. We at CSA were train to conduct the session for Adolescent Health Program (AHP) Wherein they are made aware of the facts they should be knowing also the safety measure and consequences of their unthoughtful act. This helped the kids to have a complete and proper knowledge to take the most important decision in their life. Not only this the impact was more seen in our Self-defense classes. With limited resources we could do the Self-defense class only for girls. We started training them on Karate Shotokon for almost 90 girls. Within 3 months 62 girls were white belt winner. Which is their 1st level. This meant a lot for the girls as we observed the change in their body language and confidence level.
Girls are more open compare to the previous situation where they were always left to stay in the room and were not allowed to come on the ground and play. This activity is well received by the kids and will be continued to see if they can excel and build career in this sector. This inspire us to do more and more for the kids!

Prafull at his work place
When I started working with CSA I came to know about observation home for boys. My visit to this home increased as I found that the boys from the home were very enthusiastic and were eager to have dialogue. Group discussions were helping them to build their own understanding and perception.
Prafull (name Changed) was one of the boy from this group. Who was very talkative and active. He was admitted in Observation home for need of care and Protection. His father is blind and sales small toys on the streets. His mother expired when he was just 10 yrs, old. The father was unable to take care of his children (Prafull and his sister) Prafull always was very talkative and introvert. He was average in academics. CSA provided all the educational Material and Special coaching classes for Prafull. They utilized this help in appropriate manner and could clear 10th standard exam successfully. Prafull scored 55% of marks and took admission for ITI draftsman course. While completing the course he turned 18 yrs. He had to leave Observation home as per the rules and law children above 18yrs. Cannot stay in observation home. He was struggling to manage the travel cost of reaching to his college from his home. He approached me for help and CSA immediately provided this timey help by giving him and 2 more boys with their travel cost. Prafull completed the course in first class and got a job in company named Pentagon Assembly Automation Pvt. Ltd. He is earning Rs. 9000/- Per month.
He is now self reliant. Earning for his family, cooking for himself and his father and evening time attending Jim for body building. He wants to be national or international level boxer and join army. But at the same time to increase his monthly income he have decided to do diploma of Engineering while trying for army recruitments.
