With the generous support of GlobalGiving donors, we carried out another round of the menstrual health education and hygiene awareness this reporting period. Our goal stayed the same as always; to give girls the knowledge, confidence, and products they need to stay in school and manage their periods with dignity. We paired practical menstrual health education with the distribution of menstrual hygiene kits to girls who needed them most, helping remove one more barrier to school attendance.
The session with the adolescent girls and young women brought up the need for girls to understand their emotional well being while on their periods. This was further discussed with the school staff that girls turn to in times of emergencies. The teachers appreciated being involved in these conversations because often times they are left out and yet in their own words ' learning never stops'.
