A good start to the school year

Dear Friends,

January was the start of the new school year, and we've welcomed back 550 students. Our primary schools have added an additional hour to their classes now ending at 1.30pm.

We are excited about our high school program, running its second year. As of 2020 we officially have 26 students enrolled, providing them with the skills they will need for life after they finish school.

Meanwhile in our Antigua Office, our Spanish school is packed with students and volunteers practicing their language skills. We had our first group of volunteers start their work in the school, they are supporting us once again in our Skills for Success program.

Back to School Photoshoot

In January  the school opened its doors after one month of holidays. Thanks to a generous donation, we've received over a 100 new backpacks to give to the students who needed them the most.

We've seen many smiles in January as it was photoshoot time. All students and staff got their picture taken, photos that we will be using to identify each student and link them to a potential sponsor!

NDG High School

In 2019, we received a grant from the AFAS Foundation in the Netherlands which allowed us to start our high school program for students that graduated from middle school. Our high school program is being taught both in the classroom and online, all during the afternoons so students are able to work in the mornings and support their families. We are accepting students from the entire community and currently have 26 students enrolled, which we are very proud of.

Together with Good Group we are working on developing our own curriculum for the high school program that will focus on Tourism and Hospitality. We are excited to see the progress this year.
