We would like to sincerely thank our donors and supporters for standing with us in our mission to empower vulnerable children and youth in Northern Uganda. Your generosity and continued encouragement are helping create life-changing opportunities for young people who previously had limited access to education, skills development, and mentorship.
With your support, we recently completed a tailoring and fashion design training program for 7 vulnerable young girls in Lira City, Northern Uganda. The initiative was designed to equip out-of-school and economically vulnerable young women with practical vocational skills that can support sustainable livelihoods and reduce dependency.
The training combined hands-on tailoring practice, garment cutting, measurement taking, machine operation, fashion design, and basic entrepreneurship and customer management skills. As a result of the training, the beneficiaries are now able to produce basic garments and offer tailoring services within their communities. Some of the trainees have already started receiving small tailoring orders, including clothing repairs and school uniform adjustments, creating an early pathway toward self-employment and financial independence.
In addition to vocational skills development, we were also able to conduct peacebuilding and mentorship activities reaching 784 children in Fountain Nursery and primary school and First Samuel Primary School. These engagements focused on promoting peaceful coexistence, discipline, leadership, resilience, and positive life choices among children and adolescents. The activities created safe spaces for learners to discuss challenges affecting their communities while encouraging values of unity, respect, and nonviolence.
Beyond direct skills acquisition and peace education, the program has contributed to improved confidence, motivation, and social inclusion among the beneficiaries. Many of the young people reached through the project continue to face barriers caused by poverty, limited educational opportunities, and the lasting effects of conflict in Northern Uganda.
This progress demonstrates the transformative impact of combining education support, vocational training, and peacebuilding initiatives in restoring hope and creating sustainable opportunities for vulnerable children and youth. We remain committed to expanding these interventions so that more young people across Northern Uganda can access practical skills, mentorship, and opportunities for a brighter future.
Thank you once again for believing in our vision and investing in the lives of vulnerable children, young women, and communities.
