The Brazilian Red Cross and its network are on the front lines of providing emergency relief and aid to all flood-impacted communities in the Brazilian states affected by recent flooding. We are providing water, food, hygiene and first aid kits, and other emergency supplies. Many people affected by the flooding will depend on our emergency relief for days and weeks. Many have lost all their possessions and need access to basic supplies.
Devastating flooding caused by heavy rain storms and the bursting of dams have continued to lead to loss of life, displacement, and severe damage in Rio Grande do Sul and beyond, with many thousands unable to return to their home and with ongoing and long-term needs for response and recovery.
All donations to this project will support recovery and relief efforts by the Brazilian Red Cross. We provide emergency response including quick assignment of pre-trained personnel and pre-packaged material, relief materials, and donations and contributions in cash and in-kind to partner organizations.
Organizations like the Brazilian Red Cross, deeply rooted in local communities and with strong national networks, are in the best position to provide long-term support for survivors of natural disasters like these floods.
