Thanks to your support it’s been a busy autumn for our exciting BizzyBox Lending Project!
We now have 140 carers registered on the lending library, and to date we have had nearly 220 product loans, with carers able to borrow for free a fantastic range of activity products that they can enjoy from the comfort of their own home together with their loved one!
We have continued with the busy programme of coffee morning ‘Try-out’ events, with up to 6 events a month!
So far, we have had over 450 carer attendances at coffee mornings.
At the Church Street Library coffee morning, carer Elena has continued her knitting and crochet group with fellow carers.
Here the carers have been enjoying catching up together while knitting toys, scarves, and socks.
They have been selling their knitted scarves, hats and crocheted toys at a number of events recently, helping to raise extra funds so we can support more local unpaid carers!
Elena’s Mum recently borrowed one of the BizzyBox comfort pets which her mum really enjoyed the loan of:
“At the beginning she always was holding it on her lap and stroking his fur. Mum gave him a name , the same name as our dog we had about 55-60 years ago, when I was a little girl.
This little dog benefited my mum, made her feel calmer and more relaxed. When mum was stroking this pet, I felt that it was like stress relief for her."
Your continued generosity has helped us to expand this project so that even more carers can take advantage of the products and enjoy them with their loved ones at home – while also being able to meet, socialise and have fun with fellow carers at the project coffee mornings and events.
Thank you!
