Jan.19, 2019 is beYoureyeS 4 years old birthday party and annual dinner. There is a sharing session about “Weekly activities”, “about the race” and “about the future” this afternoon.Founder, special guest, visually impaired trainer, “Dabai” senior guider, etc. share and communicated several opinions from their respective perspectives.
Jiyuan, co-founder of “beYoureyeS”, shared the concept and spirit of Lanjingling, and hope support and promote sport accessibility trough long-term participation in various activities. Xiangdong co-founder of beYoureyeS share the pain points and difficulties in regular activities.
Yutao and Xiaobin, the visually impaired trainers and guider examiners share “why there is training session for new comers” and “why senior guider ‘dabai’ need to be accessed and certified”.
“Dabai” senior guider Yinhong talked about the experience in race. She said emotionally: “Accompany is mutual. Overcoming difficulties together and cross the finish line together. Now I can be the guider run with you, and hopefully, when I am elder and cannot run that fast, I hope you can also run with me.”
In “About the future” session, Sam share how visually impaired person integrate into society and enjoy the convenience of technology. By telling the story he use a whole year to teach his mother how to use WeChat, everyone will meet barriers, accessibility is for everyone.
Chunhui, a university student, major in social work, has changed minds people around him about visually impaired Youngers. He said: “Respect must be obtained by yourselves, not by others.”
Fei from apple shared that she was unfamiliar with everything when she first came to Shanghai. After attending beYoureyeS weekly activities, she felt that the beYoureyeS group is as warm as her family. It is a place where she feels not alone. She said that Lanjingling is the most ideal NGO in her mind.
Teacher Yu, “sports, not only sport” sharing won the applause. He said: “Running is a basic, I hope that visually impaired people can try more possibilities and integrate into society through sports.”
Former UN officer Haibin shared that disability is not a tragedy. The real tragedy is that being a disabled person cannot integrate into society and cannot get inclusion education. This is the responsibility of the whole society.
After the sharing session is our 4 years annual party, it is another story and I will tell you next time.
