This project will have as principal objective to provide access to water for the rural children of the school of Sevilla in Necocli - Colombia. Children from families victims of violence attend this school. Additionally and taking into account that children eat breakfast and lunch at school, the current conditions of the school kitchen must be improved because precarious conditions.
Currently 20 children of peasants and victims of the Colombian armed conflict attend the school in Sevilla, a place where the scarcity of economic resources affects the optimal development of children and where the access to water is limited. Precarious food conditions and study materials and a physical infrastructure that threatens the lives of children, are the daily bread in this humble school.
Adapt the current conditions of the school, provide access to water as a fundamental factor of human development and provide better study conditions (food and daily study materials) that allow children to study in better conditions.
Through this project, access to water will be provided by a motor pump that allows to extract water from nearby wells. In addition, the current conditions of the school kitchen will be improved, so that they can have an appropriate refrigerator to keep the children's food in healthy conditions. The physical infrastructure of the school (walls, bathrooms) will be maintained to guarantee the safety and welfare of the children.
