The youth go through numerous challenges the young men and women are most victims of all criminal activities in Eastleigh, such as radicalization, violent extremism, ethnic conflicts, political violence and being recruited into militias and criminal gangs. We will put in place mechanisms for peace building and empowerment training for 100 youth volunteers to act as peace ambassadors. The strategic approaches will enhance peace and conflict resolution and empower the youth for employment.
We have envisaged these risks- The youth in Easteligh are vulnerable to violent extremism, radicalization, hate-filled ideology, joining criminal gangs, youth violence, ethnic conflicts, drugs and immoral behavior.
Instilling positive values through peace building training to avoid the recruitment of youth in to militias as combatants. Providing skills training as artisans in the formal and informal sectors for employment, poverty eradication and self-reliance. Broad and long range intended programs give guidance to young men and women to keep away from nefarious and evil activities. And therefore advocacy strategies will engender a culture of preventing and solving violent conflicts through peaceful means
In the long run, this proposed project would have multiple positive impacts by offering durable solutions such as- Youth leadership development in peace building, adherence to the rule of law for the consolidation of peace and security. The restored hope of the youth rekindled and can be involved in the prevention of radicalization and violent extremism and acts of terrorism. Training in skills and peace building has enhanced informed decision making process among the youth in Eastleigh.
