Thank you to everyone who has supported our work in Ghana. Our Project, Bees for Pollination to Improve Lives in Ghana is helping local families produce more cashews as well as harvests of honey and beeswax.
Keeping honey bees on cashew farms not only pollinates the cashew trees, but honey bees help farmers diversify from over-reliance on one crop. In our recent picture, Owusu has produced an impressive harvest of beeswax which he will be able to sell locally. This will give a substantial boost to his household income.
But there are still many families who would like to be part of the project when it has the funds to expand. Take Mary for example, who has three sons. She struggles to maintain her family and has seen how other families benefit from keeping honey bees on their farms. She is anxious to be incorporated into the project and hopes to be able to generate enough extra income so she can send her sons to university or for further training.
Thank you again to all who have supported our Project – your contribution is helping to change lives in Ghana.
