Growing thanks to YOU!

We would like to express our ongoing gratitude for your donations in 2023 to Community
Warehouse. Your support has been critical during a period of growth and transition for
our organization and I am thrilled to inform you that your funds helped us provide
furniture for over 1,554 children (a 21% increase from the previous year).

Current services
Post pandemic, Community Warehouse has seen a 244% increase in demand for our
services. In this time, we’ve increased the number of families served by 175%, but we
are still seeing more demand than we can accommodate and we are at capacity.
Inflation, the end of the Portland rent moratorium, climate events and refugee crises have led to
further housing instability in the Portland metro area. We have responded in several
ways to begin to meet that demand and have increased the number of families served
weekly from 48 families per week in Q4 2022 to 70 families per week today.

In order to meet client demand, we had to increase our procurement efforts. We did this in several ways:
We put a second donation pick-up truck on the road, doubling donation pick-up appointments, making donations more
accessible and available for Portland Metro residents.
We decreased our donation pick-up fee from $80 and now offer a sliding scale fee thanks to grants from the Marquis Family Foundation and Metro who are helping to fund our truck operations.

These efforts have led to a 45% increase in donated items, which is critical to increasing the number of families served and meeting the demand from our community.

"It's been a rough year, so I'm very
grateful for this. The donors giving
their furniture, all of you here -
everyone's been so gracious. You've
allowed me to generate some hope
and determination for next year
being a better year, and finding a
little more inner peace and inner
joy."
