Dear friends and supporters,
Over the past months, PLAY International has continued working toward a simple but important goal: ensuring that every child in Kosovo has the opportunity to play, participate, and feel included.
For children with disabilities, taking part in sport and physical activities is not always easy. Schools may lack appropriate equipment, teachers may need additional tools and training, and activities are not always designed with different abilities in mind. Through this project, we are working to help change that.
Our team continues to prepare and support activities aimed at strengthening the capacity of primary school teachers to make sport and play more inclusive. The focus is practical: helping teachers understand how games can be adapted, how barriers to participation can be reduced, and how every child can be encouraged to take an active role.
Alongside this work, the project supports schools with sports equipment that can be used during inclusive activities. Having both the knowledge and the right materials is essential. A well-equipped and confident teacher can create opportunities for children to participate together, learn from one another, and experience the joy of being part of a team.
But the impact we are working toward goes beyond sport.
When children play together, they build friendships. They learn cooperation, respect, empathy, and confidence. When a child who may previously have been left on the sidelines becomes part of the activity, it can change not only that child's experience, but also the attitudes of classmates and teachers around them.
This is how more inclusive communities are built: through everyday experiences where children learn that everyone has something to contribute.
We are grateful to everyone who has supported this initiative so far. Your contribution helps us continue working with teachers and schools and brings us closer to a future where fewer children are excluded from opportunities to play, learn, and belong.
There is still more work ahead, and your support remains important.
Every contribution helps us bring inclusive sport and play to more children and schools across Kosovo.
Thank you for standing with us and for believing that every child deserves a place in the game.
With gratitude,
PLAY International
