In addition to our everyday supplementary educational activities for Ukrainian refugee children aged 5 - 14 residing in Budapest, Hungary (Preparation for Elementary School; English; Hungarian; Arts), our Association (Ukrán Remény Egesület) has commenced the Beauty That Unites Us project. Its final aim is to compile and publish the trilingual (Ukrainian, English and Hungarian) book illustrated by our educatees about customs, traditions and natural features (e.g. tree species) common for both Ukraine and Hungary, as part of the natural and cultural heritage of our nations.
As the first step in the implementation of the project, we held an unbelievably warm and cosy master-class on the ages-long Ukrainian tradition of Easter eggs painting. The master class was run by our Arts Teacher, Yulia Kolodko. The whole event radiated joy and creative expectation of a great holiday. Every Easter egg, wax-painted by our students was a real piece of arts. Besides, our Association organised an exhibition of Easter paintings, shown for the children, their parents and the visiting official delegation from the Embassy of Ukraine.
