Beautification & Greening of schools in Kenya

We are excited to share the progress of our beautification and Greening project in Kilifi County.This project has not only improved the aesthetics of the schools we work with but also contributed significantly to environmental conservation and well- being of learners.

In pursuit of our tree-planting pledge, the Foundation has been working with over ten schools and five community structures to rollout the School  Beautification and Greening Program in the last 6 months. This program serves as a mentorship initiative, aiming to enlighten the youth about the significance of environmental conservation. Our impact is evident as we successfully planted 15,000 trees in ten public schools around Mariakani, Kilifi County. Furthermore, this project has successfully trained five thousand primary school children and 2600 youth in technical vocational intitute in Mariakani Kilifi County.The training program has also integrated waste management and organic manure production training to complement our environmental education and tree-planting efforts.

In collaboration with Herbivore254, over five hundred youth have  been trained on permaculture farming  and production of organic manure. The trained youth are now able to produce organic manure  used in our school garden and family kitchen gardens.

Additionally, we have successfully established Vanilla Farming  training to enrich the Agricultural Vocational skills training program.The Vanilla farm serve as a farmer’s school to transfer skills to local community. We hope that this knowledge will empower communities around us to grow the high value crop and tap into the lucrative local and international market. 

The Safal MRM Foundation will strive to scale up our Beautification and Greening  of schools program to motivate more children and youth to become Environmental Ambassadors in our communities.
