Mobile Clinics: Hope on Wheels

Through this donation, UMUDU CANLANDIRMA DERNEGI —Hope Revival Organization (HRO)— was able to complete the provision of public health services to the older people through two mobile health teams in Lattakia & Al-Haffa in Lattakia governorate in Syria, to ensure the continuity of the older people's home-based healthcare services to these vulnerable groups through May, June, and July 2025.

In the most underserved areas of Lattakia Governorate, thousands of people are suffering in silence. Older people (OP), people with disabilities, and those with chronic diseases live in dire conditions, lacking access to basic healthcare services which are considered lifesaving to many of them. With each passing day, the health condition worsens, the pain and risks increase, and hope remains fragile. But together we can make a change and help save lives and alleviate suffering.

During May 2025, 75 (OP) were reached in Lattakia & Al-Haffa, many of them received multiple services, as stated below:

-        Providing door-to-door health services to OP (50+), including free medical consultations for those in need of urgent treatment or ongoing follow-up.

-        Conduct face-to-face awareness-raising sessions (Health and Nutrition) to protect families from common diseases and provide necessary self-care guidance.

-        Identification and referral of cases to the needed specialized services based on the updated service map, ensuring comprehensive service delivery to beneficiaries.

Moreover, HRO teams provided key and brief messages about PSEA and introduced the available complaint channels in all the sessions.

We still need additional support to be able to provide:

• Essential medications and treatments for patients with high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, and others who cannot afford treatment.
• Assistive devices for older people and people with disabilities, to help them move and resume their daily lives independently.
• Specialized healthcare for mothers and children, including medical follow-up, nutrition, and basic vaccinations.
