Executive Summary

Following the initial launch and distribution phase of the Back to School Campaign, United Way Ghana continues its commitment to bridging the educational gap for vulnerable learners across the Greater Accra, Eastern, and Ashanti regions. While funding progress has temporarily plateaued and no new contributions have been received recently, program operations and post-distribution monitoring remain fully active.

Through sustained school club activities and continuous engagement, we are monitoring student progress, ensuring resource utilization, and maintaining learning continuity for the beneficiaries already reached.

While direct kit distributions are paused pending further contributions, campaign activities have transitioned into the monitoring and retention phase:

• Active School Clubs: We continue to run interactive club activities within supported schools to foster student engagement, mentorship, and literacy support.

• Resource Monitoring: Team members and local educators are tracking the long-term usage of the 1,020 exercise books and stationery sets distributed during the first phase.

• Academic Continuity: Active engagement through school clubs ensures supported learners remain motivated, regularly attend classes, and retain the confidence gained at the start of the term.

• Data Collection: Ongoing interactions with teachers and school managers provide actionable insights into the next academic term readiness and student performance trends.

Key Observations and Outcomes

• Sustained Classroom Inclusion: The initial relief provided to the 102 learners continues to prevent classroom exclusion and reduce anxiety among beneficiaries.

• Community and School Engagement: Club activities have kept United Way Ghana actively connected to school administration, ensuring problems are identified and addressed early.

• Preparedness for Future Funding: Active field presence means our distribution pipelines remain warm and ready to deploy additional kits as soon as new donor support is secured.

Next Steps and Call to Action

The current pause in incoming donations highlights the necessity of renewed donor outreach. At a cost of $10 to support two children, closing the remaining $4,486 funding gap will allow us to extend our active club framework and essential supplies to the remaining 898 waiting learners.

United Way Ghana invites corporate partners and individual donors to reignite momentum for this initiative. With active infrastructure already in place, every dollar directly translates into immediate educational access and sustained student support.
