For many children in Ghana, starting school without books and stationery means exclusion and anxiety. As the 2025/26 year begins, over 1,000 learners in Greater Accra, Eastern, and Ashanti regions need support. With USD 10, you can provide 10 exercise books and stationery for two children each, giving them dignity and hope. Together, we can make a lasting difference. Join United Way Ghana's Back to School Campaign today.
For many young learners, the excitement of a new school year comes with fresh exercise books, sharpened pencils, and the joy of showing new stationery to friends on the very first day of class. But for thousands of children in Ghana, this simple start to learning is clouded with sadness and anxiety. Without the necessary supplies, they feel left out, unable to fully participate in lessons, assignments, and homework.
This project directly addresses the challenge of inadequate learning materials faced by children in deprived communities. By providing each child with 10 exercise books and essential stationery, we ensure that 1,000 learners can fully participate in classwork, assignments, and homework without feeling excluded. The campaign removes the financial burden from struggling families, promotes equal opportunities for education, and helps children start the academic year with confidence and dignity.
Investing in children's education through this project will yield long-term benefits for learners, families, and communities. With access to school supplies, children are more likely to attend school regularly, perform better academically and stay motivated to pursue higher education. This can lead to improved literacy rates, greater economic empowerment, and stronger, more resilient communities.
