This project will donate a school bag to a deserving child in flood-affected areas, low-functioning schools, and remote villages where they lack good books, copies, and stationery. This project will provide school bags to 1,000 financially disadvantaged children in Pakistan. The catastrophic floods affecting 60% of the country has left over 1000 dead and 2000 injured where Sindh and Baluchistan are affected the most. With 325,000 houses destroyed, 735,000 livestock lost, 2 million acres of crop affected and 33 million Pakistani's suffering; this disaster has been termed has the worst in the country's history. Pakistan's Prime Minister has estimated $10 billion would be required to provide relief, rebuild damaged infrastructure and rehabilitate the affected.
All of the donations will be utilized to provide children with school bags and accessories which will include story books, copies, stationery, plate/bowl, and coloring books to address the colossal, psychological trauma and stress faced by our children with the purpose to engage them in therapy through play.
The relief and rehabilitation require continuous and constant effort, keeping in mind we need to move forward in helping and supporting more children of Pakistan. Alongside supporting and setting up libraries by renovating flood-affected schools we will be sharing the happiness by giving a gift bag to each child which they can call their own.
