The Awareness Program to End Human Trafficking in Niger State has made encouraging progress toward protecting vulnerable families from exploitation. Community sensitization activities have successfully engaged parents, youth, and local leaders, increasing awareness of the common tactics used by traffickers. Through interactive workshops and the distribution of educational materials, participating families are gaining practical knowledge on child protection, safe migration practices, and how to identify suspicious recruitment offers.
Local volunteers and community stakeholders have also shown strong commitment by supporting awareness campaigns and helping families connect with trusted reporting and support channels. Early feedback from participants indicates improved confidence among parents in discussing trafficking risks with their children and making safer decisions regarding employment and travel opportunities.
The project continues to strengthen community collaboration and build a culture of vigilance and prevention. With continued support, the initiative is on track to empower 200 families with the knowledge and tools needed to reduce the risk of human trafficking and create safer futures for children and youth in Niger State.
