Aviva Lilia Bernardo Kullberg had a huge heart and loved everybody with her bright smile and radiant energy. Our precious Aviva passed away unexpectedly after severe heart complications. Though she had bouts of bradycardia (slow heart rate), doctors were puzzled and weren't able to figure out what afflicted her. Piles of data and lots of tests couldn't reveal anything abnormal. In Aviva's memory, this scholarship fund will help further the advancement of science of heart disease and its causes.

The Aviva Women in Science Fund will support women and children in Cameroon through three main channels: education, research, and community health support. The fund will be used to help: 1) Pay for the expenses of Aviva Scholar(s) to complete her medical degree 2) Fund Medical Research conducted by medical students and Cameroonian doctors to advance the study of conditions impacting women and children and 3) Fund local Community Health Projects to provide health support to women and children
By investing in medical students, medical research, and local community health projects, we aim to support the advancement of health support for women and children in Cameroon by investing in the education of female doctors, supporting research to ultimately improve health conditions within the local context, and immediately support the health of women and children through local community led health interventions. All of our projects will be women-led to support women empowerment in health.
