Our commitment to serving kids with disabilities in Kenya is renewed every year, and this year we are more than glad to continue having you dear friend as supporter and friend for the work that we do in low-income areas in Kenya for kids with disabilities.

We are continuing to grow the scope of our influence as an organization by making sure we reached the unreached and spread the autism awareness message as we also talk to them about the various interventions available to them as options and the food program that we run that is also very beneficial to them.

Creating only awareness without the proper interventions in place is torture to those affected by autism directly and indirectly. We cannot stop doing this work right now because we know the big number of kids in the progrmae who depend on us .We would like to realy continue and reach out to many more kids this year who do not yet have access to therapy services and such food initiatives.

To you our friend please continue supporting us both in funds and in your prayers. Just like us, you too are called to give . Thank you for standing with us.One kid at a time we are changing the narrative on autism and causing an awareness shift.

Kenya continues to face a lot of challenges occasioned by covid 19. This has negatively impacted households all over the country and the ones that suffer the most are those with disabilities and most especially children.

The economy is also not favorable and most parents to children with disabilities are out of jobs, this makes them be vulnerable with no source of income or where to go to get meals for their families.

The donations we have received so far have been instrumental in ensuring we at least provide these families with food baskets quarterly and therapy services to their children with disabilities weekly.

With your help again we can make the frequency of these services increase and make them more beneficial to the children who receive them.

As we go towards giving Tuesday we hope that you will be happy to donate and ask your friends and families to donate too.

Dear Donor,

I hope this finds you well. For the past few months in Kenya, we have been experiencing hard times especially in light of the covid 19 pandemic. Were it not for the support that you give regularly and randomly to us through this GlobalGiving platform, we would be lost.

The help and support, thoughts, and prayers that you have sent our way through from January this year 2021 have been able to keep us afloat to date. We sincerely thank you for that.

Through your unwavering support from January to date, we have been able to pay the rent of the premises, feed our volunteers, and run the therapy and food program.

over the past few months, we have witnessed a 50 % increase in the number of children with disabilities that we attend to at our therapy center in Mathare slums in Nairobi  Kenya. At this therapy center, we offer free occupational therapy, speech therapy, and play therapy for children with disabilities coming from poor backgrounds, these services we offer for free, and the cost of each therapy session is directly covered by you our esteemed donor, and friend.

Currently, dear donor, our facilities are strained due to this increase and once again we turn to you for help and assistance in managing our numbers which have now grown to over 100 active children with disabilities coming to the therapy center every weekend. This means that there is even a bigger number of over 300 that we have impacted already and there are over 150 children on our waiting lists who we cannot admit for the free therapy services due to strained resources.

Find it in your heart to become a regular donor to this project and directly sponsor a child's therapy until they are completely rehabilitated and independent. We will share with you the journeys and milestones of each child you directly choose to adapt and you will be responsible for their progress and needs at the therapy center.

Regards,

Dear Donor,

Your contributions to this project continue to make a difference in the lives of children with autism in Kenya and specifically in Mathare slums in Nairobi. This is an area where the majority of the population lives below two dollars a day and continues to suffer due to systems put up by society that disenfranchise many of them.

Having a kid with special needs comes with many other unforeseen expenses like money spent on daycare, special diet, and even travel. Therefore again to cater for therapy which is very essential becomes a challenge to most of the parents.

over the past three months, our therapy center which gives free therapy to children with special needs has continued to receive more clients who have now enrolled in the program. we are barely keeping afloat due to the budgetary constraints despite doing a good job.

our major expenses are in rent, food and therapy equipment, and reimbursement for our very able volunteer doctors and therapist. To continue offering this service for free we need you to hold our hands even tighter.

Thank you and May God bless you forever for your continued kindness.

Kindness is still the best antidote and we want to begin by thanking you for your continued kindness and show of support that you have given to us throughout this year. This year 2020 has been unusual and full of surprises. We had to stop our services for a while in the month of March when the first case of covid 19 was announced in Kenya. We later resumed in June 2020 when the cases began to go down and the government relaxed some of the measures.

The work we do through your help involves offering therapy serves for free every other Saturday as from 8 am to 2 pm in Mathare slums, Nairobi at the step-up 4 autism therapy center which is largely funded by efforts of members and kind friends and donors like you.

Through your giving to this project up to 30 active children under our project receive free occupational therapy services, consultations on disability matters, and free assessments. We also take it upon ourselves to train the parents of the children with disability that we serve on the management of their children and how to do home-based occupational therapy

currently, our needs at the therapy center include food in form of rice, dry grains, and cooking oil to give to the parents of children with disabilities under our project so as to help them have meals during these hard covid 19 times.

We want to thank you once again for making this possible.
