Dear Friend,
During this reporting period, Ready Aiders Foundation continued implementing the Autism Champions for Climate project, intentionally placing children and youth with autism at the center of climate awareness and environmental action in Mathare and surrounding communities. The project demonstrates that inclusive, community-led climate action is both possible and effective when neurodivergent children are meaningfully engaged.
In 2025, the project achieved strong, measurable results. 1,500 trees were planted, contributing to environmental restoration and climate resilience. 2,500 community members were reached through inclusive climate education and engagement activities, while over 300 children and autistic youth actively participated in hands-on environmental learning. These numbers reflect a growing movement that combines climate action with inclusion and dignity.
The project’s success is rooted in intentional adaptation to the sensory, communication, and learning needs of autistic children, alongside active caregiver involvement. Beyond the numbers, families reported increased confidence and belonging, and communities gained a deeper understanding that climate solutions must include everyone to be sustainable. We are deeply grateful to GlobalGiving and you for making inclusive climate action possible and ensuring that children with autism are not left behind.
Kind Regards,
Kenneth Apopa
CEO, Ready Aiders Foundation.
