Atlas Corps: Fellow Support

Yes, YOU are a superhero! Over these last few weeks, we have all experienced significant changes to our daily activities and human engagement. You are adapting and we think that makes you a superhero!

We also appreciate your continual support of our Atlas Corps Fellows in the United States. You have provided financial support, care baskets, and messages of support. All of these activities are so appreciated. Thank you!

Atlas Corps is also adapting. We launched our Atlas Corps Responds page to provide ongoing updates. In addition, here are a few highlights of what is happening with us:

  • Class 39 "Blended" Fellowship – Big news! Class 39 started Orientation this week! They will be the pilot participants in an evolution of our model: the “blended” fellowship – Fellows will participate in a blend of virtual and in-person service. Fellows will initiate the Fellowship while in their home countries and complete their service in the United States. Stay tuned for updates!
  • Virtual Learning Community extending our engaging professional development activities to a virtual environment, Atlas Corps will engage more dynamic social impact professionals from around the world in this virtual learning community to advance knowledge and strengthen our global network of changemakers.
  • #BelieveInSuperheroes – We launched this campaign to highlight the amazing work of our Fellows and Alumni as they fight against COVID-19 worldwide. A great example is Nino (Tunisia) who is leading an effort to create face shields for hospitals and Tunisia and globally! Read more at

Superheroes unite!

Atlas Corps sends our support to YOU all the superheroes in our community! Together, we can continue to inspire positive impact in our homes, communities, and the world!

Be well-

P.S. We invite you to tune in on Wednesday, May 13, 10:00 AM EDT for a Facebook Live featuring our Founder & CEO Scott Beale. He will introduce Class 39 and provide some key updates on Atlas Corps. Stay tuned at!

Happy Holidays!

As a member of the Atlas Corps Community, it is time to celebrate a memorable year!

In 2019, Atlas Corps focused on celebrating diversity and inclusion. We know that while talent is universally distributed, opportunity is not—this idea is especially important when we think of the richness that diverse perspectives bring to our society. I am proud that Atlas Corps has engaged more than 750 social change leaders from 95 countries. Fellow by Fellow, we are making progress. You can see the highlights in our Top 5 of 2019!

Recently, when reflecting on the year, friends mentioned feeling overwhelmed. They felt unsure of how they can make a difference as just one person. I told them that they are not alone. Of the many things that Atlas Corps Fellows have taught me, one of the most important is that there is no challenge an empowered, networked community of diverse leaders cannot tackle when working together every day. Atlas Corps believes that people can truly make an impact. This idea is true for our Fellows and it is true for you.

Our Top 5 of 2019 is just one example of how we are achieving impact - together!

Thank you for being a part of the Atlas Corps Community. Thank you for inspiring positive change—one social change leader at a time.

P.S. If you are in Washington, DC, join us for our Winter Celebration on January 30. Details at

This week is a BIG week! Atlas Corps Class 37 started Orientation on October 1. And, we launched our October #GivingToday campaign - donations matched $1 for $1 for the first $20,000 raised!

Thank you! Thank you for supporting Atlas Corps, believing in our Fellows, and celebrating diversity and inclusion. Because of your support, we are now a community of 750 professionals from 95 countries who have served at more than 250 Host Organizations. Awesome!

We invite you to join us in celebrating these milestones! On October 10, we invite you to the Atlas Corps Fall Celebration in Washington, DC! We will welcome Classes 36 and 37 and honor Fellows in Classes 34 and 35 as they complete their service in the United States.

Here is a highlight from one of our newest Fellows, Chilochibi (Zambia, Class 36, Host: Solstice):

I always dared to challenge myself to do something spontaneous, to learn something new or to belong to some community who share my ideologies. Now, from my background of Economics and Public Health, I am focused on the environment with my service at Solstice, a renewable energy organization. I had always been an advocate for saving the environment, but I had never been directly involved in the field. It was time for me to test the depth of the water with both feet.  So, I said yes to this opportunity!

Yes! We love that answer!

Chilochibi said “Yes!” and is now addressing climate issues while also enhancing his abilities as a social change leader. When you said “Yes!”  to supporting Atlas Corps, you invested in Chilochibi and this dynamic community of leaders. Thank you!

Thank you for making this big week even better!

P.S. Have you thought about #GivingToday? Remember donations to Atlas Corps in October will be matched! Say YES! and multiply your impact today!

Fellows visited the State Department on June 12.
Fellows visited the State Department on June 12.

What happens when you gather 85 international social change leaders in Washington, DC, for one week? There is inspiration, innovation, community-building, a visit to the U.S. Department of State, and a pretty awesome night of karaoke! I just described the Atlas Corps Global Leadership Lab Immersion that took place the week of June 10.

The theme of the week, Creating Movements, focused on innovation, entrepreneurship, and the ability to transfer the knowledge home. One of the most memorable sessions was on "movements and communications in the media era." The session embraced the role all of us play as communicators. One Fellow summarized it well:

“We are all communicators. Our communication can influence lawmakers, legislators. We live in the era of human media, so we need to use it. People will tell their story with or without us”

Each of our Fellows is a communicator. They share their stories during the Fellowship and after as they continue to multiply their impact at home. Their diverse experiences enrich our community and inspire real social change.

Thank you for supporting this diverse, talented, and inspiring network of social change communicators. We invite you to continue showing your support AND to multiply your impact on Thursday, July 18! Donations of $100 or more will be matched as part of GlobalGiving Bonus Day.

Let's celebrate diversity and inclusion! Let's support Atlas Corps Fellows. Join us!

Thank you for playing a key role in supporting Atlas Corps. In 2017, our annual theme was building bridges. In 2018, we focused on the theme of empowering women globally. During the year, we engaged 52 new women in the Fellowship—in fact, 60% of our Fellows are female. In addition, our Fellows hosted discussion panels, wrote blogs, and engaged in conversations around the topic. It all culminated with our Empower Women Globally Gala on December 1, 2018.

Now, in 2019, our intention is to focus on diversity and inclusion. We will update you as we develop activities and outreach throughout the year. The topic is timely and resonates well with our diverse network of Fellows and Hosts.

If you have ideas, stories, and/or events that focus on diversity and inclusion, please send them to Abby, our chief development & engagement officer at We are seeking opportunities to engage Fellows AND stories to highlight!

It is truly inspiring to see what we accomplish when individuals unite under the common goal of advancing positive social change in our world. It is amazing what happens when we connect talented individuals to the opportunity to serve at outstanding organizations!

Thank YOU for your ongoing support of Atlas Corps!

Looking foward to a great 2019-

Scott (and the Atlas Corps Team)
